It's been a while...

Erm, yes, it really has been a while since my last post. Again! As it is, I never ever started that second paper so that now, there are again two papers waiting to be written during my next holidays...which are fast approaching. Nice thing! Lost the other ones but get new ones soon.
I've been busy making fanart stuff again which is great as I already thought my muse had vanished somewhere...it's been mostly HP and FFX related as I got inspired by Joanne Delany's writings which you can find here. It's mostly in German but it's very good! And as she writes a HP fanfic and a FFX fanfic, which are both terrific, I have been making stuff for her. Luckily, she likes what I'm doing ;)
Tomorrow, there's a presentation about "Bringing Up Baby" to be held but I'm sure it will go well enough even though I'm not that well prepared. That is, I know the film very good but I haven't done so much now to prepare the presentation. But I'm going to do it with another girl so there's someone to help me out if I get stuck.

On a sidenote: I've been elected for that stipend and can go to Wales next year if only I would manage to send this damn form back!

What else happened? My birthday came and went quite agreeably, along with some nice pressies, big sis' is happy about having passed her final diploma exam but out of strange reasons, I haven't talked to her since. Guess we've both been busy! I also finally managed to go to that fitness studio a friend of mine insisted of dragging me to...and it's nice. At least I don't have to have such a bad consciousness anymore as I do something for my health...even though I'd rather to some dancing or so but until I find something there, I might as well do this now. Some people of the English theatre group I was part of in school are going to form a new group and I was invited. Good for me! Only that it looks like a very complicated play we're going to do in that it's demanding a complex stage and about all female characters that have to say more than just three sentences are going around half-naked one time at least! Maybe I should go to the fitness studio even more often ;)
Yah...that's about it. My life is busy enough but not really exciting I fear...*g*

Has anyone seen my holidays?

They just vanished...so if you've seen them, could you please be so kind as to bring them back???

Holidays are gone and I'm left with still too much work. I finished my paper on Winnie-the-Pooh just in time but haven't even started the other paper yet...very bad me!
But all in all, life is a great thing and I'm surprisingly contented at the moment. I wonder how long that will go on but I hope for some time.

I'll apply for study abroad for one semester and I hope I'll be chosen for the stipend. It would be so cool, even though I'm as much terrified by the thought as I am thrilled! I guess if I'm chosen, I won't be able to eat much for quite some time before I go...my stomach doesn't react very good to nervousness...

Well...my brain refuses to give me anything more to write, so that's that for today.

...though I'm going to visit my dear sis for two weeks soon...on monday, to be precise. Got to pack my things. Actually I'm also in the mood for it...am just slightly depressed because I got to go to a b-day party this evening and I don't want to. I hardly know the girl who's celebrating and since I don't drink I wonder how the others will be when they've drunk a bit...or more...but I'll probably leave early. Must think of an excuse...

I finished reading "Jane Eyre" and it's a great book. I finally read something for my own pleasure again. Now I got to start my papers. One is for my media studies about the film "Calendar Girls" and the aging aspect within, the other is for English, Literary Theory about reading "Winnie-the-Pooh" with reception theory...not too bad subjects but still...it's work when I'd rather have real holidays...

Alright, I'm a bit late with that...a whole week! Anyway, I should prepare uni stuff for tomorrow so I thought I might as well write a new entry here ; )
Nothing important happened so there's really no point in writing. I only found out that I'm much better at Sudoku when I'm half asleep...same as with English...why can't Uni be when I'm half asleep...although, I'm almost always half asleep in uni! Hm...
Christmas has been nice and uneventful (is that a word...I'm not yet enough half asleep!)

I finished Samit Basu's "The Simoqin Prophecy" yesterday and am very sad about it. Fantastic book. Fantasy with little dots of scifiish nature (or scifish?). Most of all I liked the style of the book and all the allusions to other myths, well-known fairy tales and legends and newer media phenomena. Seems like I've become a hypertextuality-junkie *lol*.
I also read "Grendl" by the German author Frank Schweizer who is (or was - but he still lives!) a lecturer about German and philosophy. That was a hilarious book as well but far too short for my liking. Don't think it had even 200 pages! It's about the end of the world and what comes after it.

SGA is now on youtube with new eps...well, on scifi but since I don't get that and can't buy the eps in the iTunes store because I'm not part of that great region 1, youtube is my only chance! (My lecturer would criticise that last sentence. Too much inbetween!! But as I said I'm still too much awake...) Anyway, I'm so happy that the new eps are shown now. Second half of Season 4. The ep was a good one though I'm not fan of big space battles. Most of the time I forget who's who anyway. But it had some nice character moments even though my dear darling Lorne wasn't in it. But he's gonna be in the next one, so that's good news!

Nice band I found within my large collection of CDs is "Melotron". German and electronica. I've been listening to them for the past week or so.

Well, now I really should get back to Literary Theory and Semiotics and see what it's all about. Wish "you" (you know who you are if any you is there at all) all the best!

Internet is a stupid thing that swallows too much time!
I decided that pictiger is just stupid and therefore started to tidy up my photobucket account, hoping that it will have enough space for all the wallpaper that still need to upload there...cross your fingers for me...so now I got to change every link to my fanart on my Art Asylum website...*rolls eyes*...having a website of your own is far too much work! If you consider it...stay with your blog! At least if you want everything to be perfect and are extremely lazy and impatient at the same time...realised that I have to make a page for Christian Bale since one of GG is a fan and got a wall for her birthday...so I got to change the "happy b-day" line on the wall and then put it onto my site once I made the page...and got to change the page for Dr. Keller into Jennifer Keller as I now know her first name ;) And I shouldn't forget all the other pages waiting for me...music, literature, tv and film! Oh why did I want to do all this in teh first place???

Strangely (and annoyingly) enough, Joe Mallozzi seems to have problems with blogger so he hasn't posted for more than a week now! Since he normally posts every day and I got so used to it, it's terrible that my daily routine is so evilly interrupted! *pouts*

But blogger is definitely refusing to change my profile photo! *grrr*...looks so boring without one!

so that's pretty much why I'm here now. I'm ill with a devilish cold and that's absolutely not funny. I can hardly breath without starting to cough terrifyingly. Everything is just stupid and since I may only be absent twice in my uni seminars, I got a problem if I can't return next week...it's just the beginning of the term so I'd rather have one chance left to be absent...
So...I should try and write my essay for Writing Skills over the weekend, read my text on reception theory for Literary Theory and some more texts. I don't want to...my head feels like it's about to burst every minute so how am I supposed to concentrate on difficult theoretical texts???
And I have a tutor lesson on Sunday...hope I'll manage because the girl will write the english test on monday and this would therefore be the last chance to help her bit...just hope my voice won't die on me...

Well, don't want to get lost in my self-pitty...nice things in my current life: Atlantis' 3rd season is aired for the first time on german tv, season 4 is more or less available on youtube (I know that's illegal but what is one to do???) and it's been picked up for a fifth season (and will then be half as old as SG1 got. YAY!)
Heroes finally got onto German tv screens as well and I love it. It's cool. Unfortunately I can't watch all the shows I'd like to watch, like Dr. House for example since my timetable is just so full.
Can't think of much more happy things...probably the cold influencing with my memory so I'd better stop here.

Old month, new problems

YAY! I finished my uni paper and handed it in today! This is great because now I got free time until the rest of my "holidays"...with the exception of heaving to read a bit of Byron but that will be okay compared with getting this darn thing written...so that problem is solved now.
My day has been really great. I got rid off the paper, saw the local Torri Higginson twin who always cheers me up when I see her (though she probably takes no notice of me). I bought pressies for my dear sis and I cheered up my depressed friend. She gots problems right now because of her extreme perfectionism. She was under so much stress because of her uni paper that her mind and body send her a clear message to take a rest. So now it's my job to get her distracted and I think for today I did good enough. We played with her Harry Potter V playing cards and ended up inventing the most bizarre and hilarious stories since we just took up one of the cards with the screenshots of the movie and tried to get a story out of it...she really liked that idea of mine which pleased me.
Tomorrow I'll go to Berlin for the first time and I'm looking forward to it although it will be exhausting since we got a tight schedule and programme of things to do. And I got to get up tomorrow at five in the morning which is just terrible!

New month old problems...

So, it's September now...wow.
In case anyone is interested, I finished my paper just in time. The one I wrote about in my last blog entry. To be honest, I finished it shortly after midnight on the last day that I could hand it in. Went to sleep, woke up, read through it again to correct any errors that I came across, got the last possible tram to Frankfurt and ran into my lecturer to hand it to her directly. Bit embarrassing but she smiled. I hope the paper isn't too bad to make up for the lateness. At least, I know that there was one who came after me and handed it in. I wasn't the last one. Yay for that.
Now I got my second paper to finish. Got until the end of September but this time I want to hand it in earlier...and it'snot in English this time! Wish me luck, if you are out there!

I also got problems with my stomach again, though not severe ones. Damn thing! Should ring my doctor now but I don't like doctors even though mine is very nice...and there is so much that I want to speak with him about that it's slightly embarrassing. Stomach, joints problems, allergies, immunisations...

But I finally read my sis' story and made her happy. She's ill right now. Poor lass! And I got new avvie and sig up on GG, KSF, Skype and here...look to the sidebar. I also managed to get the strikingly green border away...to know a bit of html is great ; )

Nobody's on skype right now...feel lonely. Woder how Sparkles is. I should write an email and ask her! And should phone one of my friends today and ask how she is. Time flies by too fast!

I could write a new blog entry. But I really should write my analysis of "The Cradle of Civilization" by Dorothy Parker for university. Got to write about 2000 words! And all that about three pages of text...I like Parker's texts but since it's not much you have to write about, you end up reading it all thousands of times which just sucks! And I'm tired....I'd love to just go to bed and sleep but on the other hand I'm not tired enough for that...so I'm hanging in a state inbetween awake and asleep without any way to go. *sigh*

So I end up writing a new sensless blog entry instead of doing anything useful. To say it with the last word of "TCoC": "It's lousy."

I hope our Harry Potter roleplay will continue some time soon. I'm in a HP phase again...no idea why but either way, I'd love to continue with it. It was just hilarious and we're just about to have our very first Potions lesson with Snape. *lol* That will be great! And I want to reall meet Fernandez...the Slytherin girl one of my friends plays. I guess our charries will hate each other but that's just the funnier!

Coat of Arms and Egoism

Thanks to Sparkles, I thought about how my Coat of Arms would look like. Now I've finished my black and white version of it. All the symbols have various meanings for me and they tell rather a lot about me but I don't think I'll explain all of them here. But you're free to ask if you're really interested and maybe I'll answer ; )
Don't ask me though why the colours are so strange here...it's not how the original looks like!
Oh and "Aurea Mediocritas" means "The golden middle"...

Now to egoism. I sincerely admit: I'm an egoist!
But I'm in good company because I think that there's not one human being on Earth that's not egoistic. For me, there's no selfless behaviour. This may sound a bit strange now or pessimistic but indeed, it's not. It's only a bit philosophical. You see, I think that the only difference is in our values. What gives us joy. If money is all that you love than you'll be a miser but if spending money on presents than you're generous. But if you say that you only make presents for the joy and happines of others than that's not true. You do it because you feel good if oyu make others happy. If you wouldn't feel good you wouldn't do it. So you're own happiness is always the most important thing to you. And therefore everyone is egoistic. It's just that egoism is thought of as being something negative but in truth it's neither good nor bad, it's just the way we are...and probably every other living being. We always compare possabilities and chose the one that makes us most happy or least miserable. Sometimes we might chose the one that we know will make us miserable later on but then we're more living in the moment than in the future and so we chose the thing that's most comfortable now.
I'm truly convinced of this egoism principle. Just like the "there can only be one almighty being" statement, it has no real consequences for our lives. But maybe we can accept gifts more easily if we know that it's not only giving ourselves joy but also the ones giving it to us. At least if it's a sincere present. If you feel bad giving a present because if may cost so much or whatever than you're not honest about that present. You just feel that not giving it would have worse consequences for you.
So everything we do is simply for our own pleasure and if it gives pleasure to others than that's just a nice coincidence.

Wicked Game

I got a solution for my three dots problem. I simply won't do any punctuation in my blog titles :)
Now for Wicked Game, that is the title of my newest Evan Lorne/Kavan Smith wallpaper which you can see in its grand splendour here.

It's also wicked that I can't access Gate Galaxy right now. "Too many connections" it says...*grr* is what I say!
But apart from that. Everything is fairly fine. I found out that the edition of a book I tried to hunt down throughout the last week, is no longer available and will never again be available. So I had to buy another edition but well. It's the text that really matters in the end, right?

I think my sis has returned. Not that this would mean anything but I still think I'm going to try GG again and leave this post in its shortness...

The trouble with the three dots...

I just realized that most of my titles end with "...". It's a bad habit of mine, I know. Does anyone know what to do against it? It's either "..." or an exclamation mark! I should try and find a support group, I think.....argh! No. I. Must. Use. Simple. Full Stops. It works! :) Oh no, that was an exclamation mark again...

Okay, I give up!...!....!....!!! You'll simply have to live with it. I can't help it!

Barefoot and exhausted...

1) Barefoot: no, I'm not barefoot but I did a wallpaper for one of my favourite German films which is called "Barfuss" and as you can imagine, that's "barefoot" in English. This is it:

So that's not, as I said I would do, a sole Til Schweiger wall but he's on it anyway and since his website isn't on the web yet, I came across the barefoot website. I'd give you the link but it's all in German unfortunately.

I've also updated the site with the other "new" fanarts I made. So it's up to date at least. Just got to write those other pages...

2) Now to "exhausted": Just slightly so. It's getting better but I've spend most of the morning carrying my sis' belongings to her room. She's doing this lab work now and since she only arrived yesterday in the evening, she had no time to bring it all up herself so lil' sis has to do it...*sigh*. But that's the way it is, right? Now I've got to water the plants....maybe I'll come back with something later on.

Once upon a time...

I couldn't think of a more fitting or better title. This is not going to be a fairy tale. Anyhow, let me continue:

Once upon a time there were two almighty beings...

If you think there's something wrong here you will either think that A) I have just gone mad or B) you will think along the philosophical line that I am about to trod on. I hope it's B but in case there's someone there thinking A, I will explain B.
The thing that's wrong with that not-fairy-tale-sentence is that there can never be two almighty beings!
I won't muse about whether there's one almighty being or not coz that's not the problem. But if there were two, they wouldn't be almighty. I discovered that truth when I was about 13 years old (that's a rough guess, because I can't really remember how old I was but it sounds better if I give you an age...). I was a Trekkie then and thought about the Qs and that they can't be almighty. Here's now the reason for it:

Assume there were two supposedly almighty beings called X and Y (had already A and B in this post, would become a bit confusing if I used those letters!). Now, out of some reasons we don't know and don't need to know, X decides that it can't stand Y anymore and therefore wants to kill it. Since X is almighty and therefore can achieve anything it wants, Y would die. But since Y is also almighty and we just assume that it wants to continue living, it won't die.

That's the whole problem and hence there can never be two almighty beings! Of ocurse we could say that almighty beings can't die or that there are certain rules but that would make them still not almighty.
This sort of philosophy is naturally very pointless and won't help us in our daily lives but since I thought of it, I couldn't forget it and therefore had to write it down at one point. This point is here and thus is my discovery.

Still not dead...

Little post to say that I haven't died a hideous death nor a nice one. Am still lurking around...for better or worse, I cannot judge!

I had a splendid time with Sparkles, my UK friend and we spent a lot of time drooling over Gerry Butler and other hot actors. We have decided that I am going to ask Kavan Smith and/or Joe Flanigan about their Coat of Arms when I meet them. It's when not if! Oh and I am going to get a green highlight once I find a male hair stylist to do so for a reasonable price :)

Still got to finish unpacking. Got a Lorne wallpaper to be done for Gomeroi. Am also planning about more Michael Weatherly, Gerard Butler wallpapers and maybe Til Schweiger wallpapers for a change. I have some ideas for future blog posts that I am going to post. Hopefully they won't end like that still promised "Las Meninas" post *lol* which, btw, I still intend to write some day. Oh, and I should probably update Art Asylum with the newest fanarts and get some more pages written and uploaded. Yes and then there's the promised Lorne comic signature that I also have to do for Gomeroi...hm. When am I going to write my uni papers? Seems that I have hardly time for that! Got to watch lots of tv and movies too...and now that I finally checked out Joe Mallozzi's blog and decided that I have to read that regularly from now on. And he posts daily!

Well, now I'll try to think of how I am going to do all this. So that's that for now.

Fireflies...

For once I'm not talking about Joss Whedon's great tv show but about real fireflies. Or glowworms...I just had to walk the dogs to the forest's edge and there were lots of those tiny little creatures. It had something magical, calming and peaceful. The whole forest seemed enchanted. Sure, I've seen fireflies before. But I can't remember when or if I ever saw so many of them together. Gliding through the air like little dots of green light. Some daring to fly rather high and not near to the ground like most of them. Some even flew by my face while most of them stopped to glow when I came nearer unless I stood really quiet and motionless for a while. Unfortunately I had to get back and bring the dogs back home. I wished to sit down right in the middle of them. It was easy to imagine them to be little faries...

Okay, that was all that I had to get rid of.

*Grrr*. Of course it had to be that way. As soon as I was far enough into the forest that to turn back would be meaningless, the rain shower started. So I waited about 15 minutes under a tree for it to stop together with my miserable looking dogs. At least, there was a good tree to take shelter from the rain. Now I got to completely change my clothes or almost all of my clothes....no idea what I shall wear. I seemingly run out of trusers. It' impossible to find fitting jeans these days. They're either too tight or too loose or you can't sit with them!

It seems that blogger didn't recognize it was already past midnight where I live so it posted my last post under yesterday's date...but that doesn't matter.
Today I finished the avvie for the set. Normally I wouldn't take pictures where he smokes, but it fitted so well...

I also came to terms with references in html. Seems I was just too tired to see that there was no problem at all...silly me! But it's tiresome to change all the sites I've already made and check all the references and all. So far I'm not very far with it. Just about four sites of a high number of sites.
But I'm very happy because it seems official now that Kate Hewlett will return in her role as Jeannie Miller, Rodney McKay's sister, to Stargate Atlantis. I simply loved the last episode with her. I'm sure this one will be just as great!

I should go now and take a shower and prepare everything for tonight!

On weekend's doorstep

I survived the week and I actually now know what that presentation theme is all about. I'm supposed to do a presentation--together with a friend--about Hegel's "end of art". After standing in front of that bookcase which was filled with books about Hegel or by himself (don't knwo how many), I just took the "Hegel's Dictionary" and looked under "art"...the main thing is seemingly that he believed our modern times to be so unaesthetic that no real art could be produced any longer and that therefore it is the "end of art". Now we got to say all this in about 10 minutes. I have no idea how we're going to do that!
Apart from finding this out, I spent the rest of my day with a friend who invited me to a nice café for my b-day. Originally she planned to drive me home in a cabrio (which is her boyfriend's car which she has right now) but the weather was against us. But still it was funny!
Tomorrow, I'll have a video night with someone I met at uni. She's cool and reminded me of a friend so that's why I spoke to her first of all. She likes the Dresden Dolls. Hence she must be cool. And she knew Gerard Butler! Finally someone who knows him! We're going to watch movies like "Rocky Horror Picture Show", "Dear Frankie", "My Fair Lady" and "The Producers". At least that's what's planned but this could change.

I'm a bad girl because I still won't write about the other painting (but in case you're wondering, I swear, that there is another painting! It's "Las Meninas" by Vélasquez (or so)). It's pretty late here. 11.11 pm to b exact so I'll go to sleep now.

And ArAs makes very slow progresse but it does. I'm currently fighting with the references (which I should have found out right at the beginning of learning html but just was too lazy...)

Art Asylum made a great step towards a new layout!

Hah! For months, I've been fighting with html and all to programme the new layout and get all browsers to accept it. I'm not yet there but I think I've made some progresse today. Imporant progresse. Happy relief is floating through my veines. I already thought I wouldn't manage it. But now! Hah again! I'm just stubborn...good thing sometimes!
So maybe you'll see the new ArAs soon enough (that is: within the course of this year and not in the next millenium... *lol*).

Alright, you may go if I'm going on to behave so stupid. I'd understand you perfectly ; ) But maybe I'll write about something interesting once in a while so feel free to come back. My student had of course not learned her vocabulary. Okay, she did know some...mostly those which resemblance the German meaning. But I won't torture, erm, tutor her again before mid August or so...school holidays. Dentist was okay. He's a very ncie man so you can't be afraid of him. I'm so glad I go to him and stopped going to that horrid woman. I still feel terrible before and can hardly eat but it's okay.

Oh I like silly rambling! *sigh*. This is great. And I can always change it again! Of course, it's all totally meaningless but who cares? It helps me procrastinating, practicing my English and...don't know what else?! Somehow it does cheer me up. It's like talking to someone who isn't there. But that's not the point because I can just talk or write about what I just feel to talk or write about. Like that this last sentence was a strange thing!

I just finished the novel "Ensel und Krete" by Walter Moers and he's a genius, if you ask me. His books are so funny. The novels situated on that strange and imaginera continent Zamonien are simply hilarious. He's got humour and a free floating literary style (if anyone knows what I mean with this, please tell me...I'm not sure) and has the nicest new words you ever saw. I can only recommend to read something by him. Preferedly "Capt'n Bluebear's 13 1/2 lives". Maybe it may not be (another strange sentence!) that people who are not familiar with the phenomena of Capt'n Bluebear will love those books so much. I grew up with him so I love him dearly. But maybe you'd still love them, so just go and try.

You're still here? Not run into the next bookshop to search for a Walter Moers novel? Shame on you. Maybe my recommendations are wasted on you if you don't follow them! Hmpf!

Alright. I just assume that it's your good will that keeps you here to read what else I may write. But I'll write nothing else. True, I still don't talk about the other painting although it's a great one. Perhaps this will make you come back?! But for now:

See? I came up with something more ingenious than "Third post" as a title! Hah! I might become a good blogger after all. But maybe not because I won't keep my promise and and talk about the other painting. I'm neither in the mood nor have I time for it. Okay, I also have no time to post but that's another story...
I got to go to the dentist today and I simply HATE dentists! Afterwards my student who I'm tutoring (not torturing!) in English will come...her mother seemingly makes her so she's not very enthusiastic. *sigh*
Apart from that, I've got to tidy my room for tomorrow, think about a theme to write a Hausarbeit about for theatre (no idea! But got to hand it in within the next two weeks....*sob*) and work for a presentation about Hegel (my part is "end of art" no idea also!). Uni is cool but it sucks!
I ust saw David Hewlett's acceptance speech for winning the spacey award...if you can call that "speech" at all *lol*

Another totally uninteresting thing is that I wrote a 125 words description of my feelings during that block seminar about film history on that terribly hot day on the 7th floor in a room with no windows or air conditioning and the walls being black...it was more than 30°C in that room! I was to apathetic to even die....the description is for uni. I hope Bill (my lecturer) will be happy with it.

Situation Snapshot

The walls are watching you, choking you mercilessly and drawing you through the hungry gates of an eternal blackness. They are swallowing every sign of life. Your heavy head pulls you down, filled with faceless thoughts you cannot grasp. The sweet whispering ground, welcoming you in its arms. Every moaning has died and subsided into shallow breathing. Waves on the screen. Back and forth; drawing you with them into an alluring silence. Time creeps by, fighting in despair against the clutches of the sticky air. Like you. Crushing and crumbling under the suffocating weight of the life-sucking walls, clad in dark cloth, and the hot, sticky mass of air. No energy, no substance left to rise and flee from the living tomb. Apathy…

So, what do you think? Okay, there's no "you" so you don't have to answer that. But personaly, I think, it's not too bad and it mirrors my feelings exactly (maybe just slightly exaggerated like all writers do it *g*).
Yah, that shall suffice for now...
I'm hungry and will search for something eatable.

Second post! (I should come up with better titles...)

So...this is my second post. Well you-if there is a "you" at all- will have guessed as much. Otherwise you'd be stupid and I don't want you to be here, so go away!
Now to all the ones who were clever enough to figure out that this is my second post:
I have no idea what I want to tell you. I wrote my essay but it's crap and I still got to type it and print it out. I doubt my lecturer will like it but it doesn't matter. So I rather should go and type it but I don't feel like it at the moment. But since I scarcely ever do feel like it, that's no good apology. Maybe I'll do it once this post is finished...and I found out how to reprogramme my website so it meets with my wishes? Nah, better not. I'm slow with learning html and css and everything. Or maybe it's just the problem that I have an excact idea of how it shall look so I got to find a way to make it like I want it to be. I want things to be perfect. Not always. Not with essays as you can tell. But with fanart or stuff like this website. Oh and I wanted to try and figure out how to make this blog look nicer....yeah, I should probably do that after I've typed my essay.

I know, that's not interesting in the least but who cares as long as I'm the only one reading this silly rambling? And I named the blog "rambling overkill" so I should start to produce some kind of overkill. To be honest I named it that way because I had no idea at all of how to call it. But I ramble a lot and "Overkill" by Kosheen happens to be one of my current favourite songs so...I guess it's fitting enough.

There are a few things I could talk about...or write.
"Die Gesandten" by the painter Holbein d. Jüngere. That picture is extremely fascinating! I don't know if anybody knows it. The interesting thing is - and I still don't know how he managed to do it - that he painted a skull beneath those two men but distorted. If you stand directly in front of it, you hardly see it.. But in the house it was hung up, there was a staircase and if you went down that staircase and looked at the painting from an angle of 27° you could see it quite clearly. Modern technology manages to deskew(?) the skull.
There are a lot of other fascinating facts. Some historians say that they found out that those men stood there on Friday, April 11th 1533 between 3 and 4 pm! Don't ask me how they did this. But that's not all because that Friday was a Good Friday and exactly 1500 years after Jesus died. For this year, one of the gospels predicted the apocalypse and during that time, Martin Luther was thought of as the antichrist! The angle of 27° also plays a major role within the painting. And it is said that this was the angle that the sun had during Jesus' crucifixion! I can't tell to what degree all of this is true but well...I am terribly fascinated by that picture! And apart from all that, Holbein is just a very good painter! You can almost feel the fabric of the clothes and all when you look at the picture. I wish I could paint a bit like that! But I'm hopeless with brushes - unless they're Adobe Photoshop brushes of course *lol*

Now, this should be enough for now because I must dash to uni to learn more interesting stuff...or not. Later on, I could tell you about a second painting we discussed yesterday. That one is more mystical because people don't really know what the painter wanted to paint with it. But you'll see...

Whoa...first post!

Now...how to begin? No idea. Not that it would matter much. There's probably nobody who'll ever read this and maybe it's better that way. My life is fairly quiet most of the time so there will be nothing spectacular to write about. Just my random musings, maybe posting of my latest fanart and such things.
To be honest, the sole reason for creating this blog was to be able to respond to other blogs. *lol* So I'm really at a loss of what to do with this blog now but it's fun to type away. I know I shouldn't do this right now but rather think about my essay, exposé and library quiz I've got to do for uni...I guess I'm not the best student ever. *sigh*
Well, I'll leave it for now and see how my very first post looks.!
